Founded in 2002 by the Richmond Hill-Bryan County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Bryan is designed to bring together a diverse group of potential leaders and provide a forum for shared viewpoints on the needs of Bryan County. Our mission is to develop a new generation of leadership to enhance the future of Bryan County.

Format: The program consists of 6 full-day classes. Classes focus on Leadership, Communications/Team Building, History and Government, Economic Development, Education, and Environment.

Admission: Up to twenty participants will be accepted for the class of Leadership Bryan. The selection committee will review the applications and select the participants based on criteria which will ensure wide representation of the community. Notification of acceptance will be emailed to nominees.

Tuition: Leadership Bryan is funded by contributions from area businesses and by a fee of $400 per participant. The fee includes expenses related to the program, including overnight accommodations (if any), meals and class materials. Scholarships may be available.

Attendance Policy: To graduate from LEADERSHIP Bryan, attendance at the retreats and issue sessions is MANDATORY (please refer to attendance policy on the cover page of the application found on the RHBC Chamber of Commerce website). Only one excused absence is allowed. The second absence, for any reason, will result in the participant being dropped from the class. There will be no refunds.

Leadership Bryan:

  • Provides a balance of viewpoints for the purpose of broadening participants' perspectives.
  • Encourages development of a network of interpersonal relationships among participants.
  • Provides a forum for dialogue between participants and current community leadership.
