Founded in 2002, by the Richmond Hill Bryan County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Bryan is designed to bring together a diverse group of potential leaders and provide a forum for a shared viewpoints on the needs of Bryan County. Our mission is to develop a new generation of leadership to enhance the future of Bryan County.
Format: The program consists of 6 full day classes. Classes focus on Leadership, Communications/Team Building, History and Government, Economic Development, Education and Environment.
Admission: Up to twenty participants will be accepted for the class of Leadership Bryan. The selection committee will review the applications and select the participants based on criteria which will ensure wide representation of the community. Notification of acceptance will be emailed to nominees.
Tuition: Leadership Bryan is funded by contributions from area businesses and by a fee of $400 per participant. The fee includes expenses related to the program, including overnight accommodations (if any), meals and class materials. Scholarships may be available by written request.
Attendance Policy: To graduate from Leadership Bryan, attendance at the retreats and issue sessions is MANDATORY. Only one excused absence is allowed. The second absence, for any reason, will result in the participant being dropped from the class. There will be no refunds.
Leadership Bryan
Before applying to be a part of Leadership Bryan, there are a few requirements to consider. We hope that you will decide to become a part of the next class, but before you do:
Tuition for the Leadership Bryan Program is $400 for Chamber members, and $600 for non-Chamber members (includes a 1-year individual Chamber membership) due at the beginning of the program. There is only a limited amount of money for partial scholarships ($200 per recipient). These scholarships are granted based on need of the individual and the organization that they represent. A written request for scholarship must be provided with application.
Leadership Bryan requires your dedication. Attendance is critical to the success of the program... only one absence is allowed during the program to be able to graduate. Your Absence can not be used for the mandatory event (Session I). Once the calendar is published, if you have multiple conflicts, you should not apply this year, but notify the Chamber that you wish to be re-nominated next year. No exceptions are allowed.
Employer Support
Participants in Leadership Bryan must have the support and commitment of their Employer. IT IS NECESSARY THAT WE HAVE THE SIGNATURE OF THE MANAGER OF YOUR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AS INDICATION OF SUPPORT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM DUE TO WEEKDAY CLASSES. (This is not a Commitment to financial support, but to time required to participate in the program)
