“We are extremely excited to enter the Richmond Hill market” stated Philip Williams, President and CEO of The Claxton Bank. “This expansion gives us the opportunity to provide local families and businesses with competitive financing and financial management solutions to help grow their lives and businesses, all with a local, personal touch. We are so pleased to have Chris Barr, a local banker and longtime resident of Richmond Hill, to lead our efforts here. This community is his home which means he cares about locals and the attention and support they receive. He’ll do an outstanding job delivering personalized financial solutions to our friends and clients here.”
Chris Barr is a 15-year banking veteran, previously a Commercial Banker with South State Bank in Richmond Hill, GA. Chris earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Georgia Southern University and later graduated from UGA Banking School and Leadership Bryan. He is a 26-year resident of Richmond Hill and is active in the YMCA Board of Managers, Richmond Hill United Methodist Church Finance Committee and Rotary Club of Richmond Hill.
“I am very excited about this opportunity and this new role at TCB – Richmond Hill. It is very rewarding to work at a local institution that is singularly focused on our customers and the communities we serve. We are driven to create value, not only for our current customer relationships, but also while we grow our banking franchise in the Bryan County market. All of our lending decisions are made here, locally by people who are invested in the community which is a significant competitive advantage” noted Chris, VP and Market Leader for the Richmond Hill location.
TCB is a community bank dedicated to making banking personal again. TCB opened its doors in 1941 and has been serving Evans and surrounding counties for over 7 decades. “Banking is about relationships,” explained Mr. Williams. “Our roots in small-town Georgia mean we do business a little differently. Our focus on our customers and on our communities set us apart from larger companies in a way we believe is meaningful. Blending our customer centric approach with the best service and technology makes banking simple for our customers. They don’t have to settle.”
TCB provides a wide range of commercial and consumer credit products, including loans under various government programs such as those provided through the U.S. Small Business Administration (“SBA”) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (“USDA”). The Bank also provides a full suite of deposit accounts, complemented by robust cash management services, and innovative digital banking offerings.
“For nearly eighty years, TCB has been delivering value for our customers and communities first. We are so excited to grow that commitment with TCB Richmond Hill, and we hope to see you on Friday, November 13th. Stop by our ribbon cutting to get to know us and to see how we might be able to help serve and support you.”
